UPAYA PEMERINTAH KECAMATAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEMBERDAYAAN EKONOMI MASYARAKAT DI KECAMATAN MEDAN PETISAH KOTA MEDAN
Abstract
This study aims to determine the economic picture of the community in Medan Petisah District, Medan City and to determine the efforts of the sub-district government in improving the economic empowerment of the community in Medan Petisah District, Medan Petisah District, Medan City. This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive method. The informants in this study were the Head of Medan Petisah District, Medan Petisah District, Sub-district Staff and business actors in Medan Petisah District. The form of data analysis used by the author here is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study show that the economic picture of the Medan Petisah District community is that most of them work in the trade and service sectors and many people are still below the poverty line where there is still community welfare that is in the pre-prosperous position (very poor) and prosperous I (poor). The role of the sub-district government in community empowerment can be seen from several indicators, namely human development, business development, environmental development and institutional development. Community empowerment through human development is carried out through socialization and counseling of empowerment programs and active community involvement in development. Community empowerment through business development focuses on developing group businesses by providing capital loans for both savings and loan groups and business groups, business development in the field of small and medium enterprises which is realized with various kinds of assistance provided, both in the form of capital or in the form of capital assistance. Community empowerment in environmental development both in maintaining the natural environment and the social environment, the sub-district government implements a mutual cooperation system so that it fosters the natural environment and the social environment with a spirit of mutual cooperation. Community empowerment in institutional development is carried out by providing direction, services or recommendations for easy and fast activities, facilitating community institution activities and providing support to existing institutions for the implementation of the functions of these community institutions..
